Tibetans across India take part in Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan as part of Thank you India

Mcleodganj: As a part of Central Tibetan Administration’s Thank You India-2018 campaign, thousands of Tibetans across India took part in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, an initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve an open defecation free India by 2019.

Marking the beginning of the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the fourth anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, thousands of Tibetans took part in a mass cleanliness drive in Tibetan settlements across India. Clad in ‘Thank You India’ T-shirt, Tibetans, young and old in Tibetan settlements across India, from Jammu and Kashmir to Karnataka, from Arunachal Pradesh to New Delhi led a daylong Clean India movement.

Below are the photo submissions from Dickey Larsoe Settlement, Shimla, Mainpat, Gangtok, Bir, Puruwala, Rajpur Sakya Centre, Rinchen Choeling nunnery in  Dekyiling, Mundgod, Bylakuppe, Paonta, Darjeeling, Kollegal, Kamrao, Chief Representative’s office, Bangalore, Norgeyling Bhandara, Sikkim, Shillong etc. Under the leadership of the Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan people across India are observing the year 2018 with a series of Pan-India events to express gratitude to the Government and people of India.
